Ed Langlois of the Catholic Sentinel in Portland, Ore., had a heartwarming story you might have missed last month. It’s about an 87-year-old (although you’ll never believe it from the picture!) retired Holy Names Sister and teacher who has been helping the homeless and mentally ill living in tents and campers along the McKenzie River, far from traditional social services.
