Veterans’ hospital enlists counsel of diocesan priest

In the wake of allegations of abuse and neglect at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, the Catholic Explorer of the Diocese of Joliet, Ill., talked to a Joliet diocesan priest who is a Vietnam veteran and now serves as a chaplain at a Veterans Administration hospital. His background as a war vet gives him unique expertise in his current job, the paper reports.
