Our Rome bureau chief, John Thavis, tonight caught up with the chairman of Catholic Relief Services, Archbishop Timothy M. Dolan of New York, for a video interview about the tragedy in Haiti. Archbishop Dolan was in Rome for celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the North American College, the U.S. national seminary.

don’t give to the catholic church. they will mis-appropriate the funds to their benefit! Instead give to a reputable organization where the money goes directly to help the people of Haiti!
The Catholic Church has been for centuries the hope of the children of God around the world, in times of distress and she will be until the end of times. Now, in solidarity with the least of the brothers and sisters of Christ in Haiti, the Catholic Church is present again.
I just started working last week, waiting for my paycheck to come and my contribution will go to Catholic Relief.
May the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless us all!
