Msgr. Gregory Schlesselmann, rector of Cardinal Muench Seminary in Fargo, N.D., was able to get an aerial view of the Red River in the small plane flown by a North Dakota priest last weekend.
The pictures taken during the plane ride are definitely worth a look, especially the interactive photo at the end which illustrates the normal river flow, the location of the dikes and the river overflow. The priest told CNS the pictures — without the markups — are somewhat misleading because they seem to show more snow than water, but he noted that underneath much of that layer of snow is in fact water.
